Royal Randwick & Rosehill Gardens
Members Reserve Dress Code
Important Information
To preserve the tradition and elegance of the Members Reserve, minimum dress standards apply on all Saturday racedays at Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens (and Cup Day at Royal Randwick).
This dress code applies to; Members, Members’ guests, day guests in Members Reserve dining rooms & venues, and children aged 14 years and over.
Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal national dress of their country.
Entry to the Member Reserve is at the discretion of our event day staff and security teams and may be denied if dress standards are not met.
Please Note: The Australian Turf Club reserves the right to interpret and enforce these standards. Dress regulations are designed to uphold the tradition and premium experience of the Members Reserve.
Ladies
Members and guests are encouraged to embrace the tradition and the occasion of racedays through polished attire befitting the Member Reserve.
Please wear:
• Dress
• Skirt and blouse
• Tailored pants with dress top
• Heels, dress shoes, or dress flats
Gentlemen
Formal raceday attire is required within the Members Reserve.
Please wear:
• Suit with tailored pants (including dress chinos), collared dress shirt, and tie
• Dress shoes
• Jacket, blazer or sports coat
During the NSW Daylight Saving period, jackets are optional; however, ties remain mandatory.
Please Avoid
The following will not be accepted to enter the Members Reserve:
• Garments which show midriff
• Bralettes or bandeau-style tops worn as outerwear
• Playsuits
• Denim
• Shorts, jodhpurs, untailored pants, jeans
• Open-neck shirts or shirts without a collar
• Leggings worn as pants, tracksuits, or athletic wear
• Rugby tops or football jerseys
• Parkas, duffle coats, windbreakers, anoraks or leather bomber jackets
• Pullovers or cardigans worn without a jacket
• Sandals, joggers, runners, athletic/sports shoes, rubber-soled shoes, beach-style footwear, thongs, slippers, gumboots or visibly worn footwear
• Peaked caps or beanies
• Torn or ripped clothing
Royal Randwick & Rosehill Gardens Midweek Racedays | All Canterbury Park & Warwick Farm Racedays
Members Reserve Dress Code
Important Information
This dress code applies to all racedays at Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm, and midweek racedays at Royal Randwick and Rosehill Gardens, excluding Melbourne Cup Day.
Midweek racing offers a more relaxed interpretation of raceday style, while maintaining a smart and considered standard.
Ladies
Please wear:
• Dresses
• Skirts and tops
• Tailored trousers, chinos, neat slacks, or jeans (no rips)
• Footwear must be clean and presentable
At Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm, tailored dress shorts are also welcome.
Gentlemen
Please wear:
• Collared shirt
• Tailored trousers, chinos, neat slacks, or jeans (no rips)
• Footwear must be clean and presentable
At Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm polo shirts and dress shorts are also welcome.
Please Avoid
The following will not be accepted to enter the Members Reserve:
• Athletic wear
• Torn, ripped or unclean clothing
• Overly casual footwear including athletic/sports shoes, rubber-soled shoes, beach-style footwear, thongs and sandals
All Venues
General Admission Dress Code
Important Information
The following dress code applies to all General Admission areas on midweek and Saturday racedays at Royal Randwick, Rosehill Gardens, Canterbury Park, and Warwick Farm.
• All general admission dining rooms and function venues require smart casual attire.
• Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the formal national dress of their country.
• Dress code applies for children 14 years and over.
• Fancy dress, including jockey outfits or apparel resembling official racing attire, is not permitted. Any attire deemed unsafe, misleading, offensive or likely to cause confusion may result in refusal of entry or a requirement to cloak items prior to entry, at the discretion of Australian Turf Club staff. Patrons who refuse to comply may be denied entry.
Ladies
There is no formal dress code in General Admission, but we recommend smart dress befitting of a raceday occasion.
Please avoid wearing:
• Fancy dress costumes
• Tattered clothing or shoes
• Thongs or barefoot
• Offensive attire (inappropriate language and/or imagery)
Gentlemen
There is no formal dress code in General Admission, but we recommend smart dress befitting of a raceday occasion and encourage our guests to wear a buttoned, collared shirt with a suit jacket and pants.
Please avoid wearing:
• Fancy dress costumes
• Tattered clothing or shoes
• Thongs or barefoot
• Offensive attire (inappropriate language and/or imagery)
Accessibility
We understand that some medical conditions or accessibility needs may affect a Member or guest’s ability to follow our usual dress regulations.
Our priority is to ensure every Member and guest feels welcome, comfortable and supported during their visit. If you need an adjustment to the dress code for accessibility or medical reasons, please reach out to us ahead of time at members@australianturfclub.com.au and let us know what you require.
